Milkweed for Monarchs

Milkweed for Monarchs

Feeding the pollinators, feeding the planet

Monarch butterflies are a beautiful and invaluable resource to this planet and all who inhabit it. They are integral to our native ecosystem, aid in the production of crops, and are necessary to sustain life on this planet.

Despite their importance, over the last 40 years, Monarch butterflies have experienced a 99% decrease to their population, largely due to habitat loss and global warming. The monarch butterfly is now considered endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

In response, our club converted a ~200 sqft section of turf grass into a viable and sustainable pollinator garden, filled with Monarch butterfly's primary source of food and shelter, native narrowleaf milkweed!
